General Summary: Reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources, the Director of Recruitment and Retention collaborates with all hiring managers and building administration throughout the District to develop and implement strategic long-range recruitment plans that support the Mission of ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø (MPS). ÌýThis position provides leadership in developing and executing human resources strategies in support of the overall strategic direction of MPS; specifically in the areas of talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning.

Essential Functions:

1.ÌýÌý ÌýWorks with hiring managers and building administrators to develop and implement proactive and creative recruitment strategies/tools to attract, recruit, and attain highly preferred job candidates. Ìý(20%)ÌýÌý Ìý

2.ÌýÌý ÌýAssists in interviewing, selecting, and assigning teachers, paras, professional/technical and other assigned Ìý Ìý Ìý staff members. Ìý(15%)

3.ÌýÌý ÌýResponsible for meeting established recruitment goals and objectives while maintaining and developing
ÌýÌý Ìýattrition and succession plans. (10%)

4.ÌýÌý ÌýAssists the Director of Personnel in the areas of evaluating and dismissing teachers, professional/technical staff, paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodial/maintenance, food service, substitute teachers and other assigned staff. (10%)

5.ÌýÌý ÌýManages and coordinates all aspects of the Student Teaching Program and collaboration with Student Education Academy Program. (10%)

6.ÌýÌý ÌýManages and coordinates all aspects of the Substitute Teacher Program as well as long-term substitute teacher placements. (5%)

7.ÌýÌý ÌýAttends and/or coordinates recruitment functions such as job fairs, career days and/or other events to find qualified candidates for all job classes. (5%)

8.ÌýÌý ÌýDevelops and maintains relationships with all Department Managers/Principals. (5%)

9.ÌýÌý ÌýAttends all Board of Education and Cabinet Meetings. (5%)

10.ÌýÌý ÌýAssists with Human Resources department reporting obligations. Ìý(5%)

11.ÌýÌý ÌýCoordinates the selection and assignment of summer school staff. Ìý(5%)

12.ÌýÌý ÌýAssumes other responsibilities delegated by the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources. (5%)ÌýÌý Ìý

Length of contract: 12-month

Qualifications:Ìý

1.ÌýÌý ÌýEducation Level: ÌýA doctoral degree from an approved institution with a major in educational administration or the accepted equivalent is preferred; a six-year specialist degree is required.

2.ÌýÌý ÌýCertification or Licensure: ÌýA Nebraska Administrative and Supervisory Certificate with the appropriate endorsement.

3.ÌýÌý ÌýExperience desired: Three years’ experience in recruiting, interviewing, assigning, and evaluating people.

4.ÌýÌý ÌýOther requirements: ÌýAbility to work with individuals in the development and implementation of district recruitment and selection program and to compile and prepare reports.ÌýÌý Ìý
